The article Geerts Deep drawing in full development is published in marktaanbodmetaal.nl.

In 2017, the Dutch family business Geerts Metaalwaren B.V. was acquired by Bravilor Bonamat. A new management team has been installed that has implemented a series of new initiatives. Naturally, the skills and experience of both new and existing staff were used.

Geerts Deep Drawing in full development

Bravilor and Geerts, both family businesses, have been working together for more than 50 years,' says director of Geerts Deep Drawing Arthur Wijker. Bravilor produced coffee machines and Geerts supplied the deep-drawn metal components.

Motivated team Geerts Deep Drawing

The Geerts Deep Drawing team is highly motivated. The improvement in delivery times has been considerable in recent months. In the past, product quality was excellent but delivery times were sometimes too long. Sales and Marketing Manager Martin Grob says: 'We have made great strides in catching up. In the past year we have achieved a delivery reliability of 98%, as a result of which we have seen a sharp increase in customer satisfaction', says Sales and Marketing Manager Martin Grob.

Investing in new technology

Almost all products are made to measure by Geerts Deep Drawing, where the necessary tools are engineered and produced in-house. Customisation and optimal advice to customers is of paramount importance at Geerts. To be able to guarantee this in the future, and to improve production and efficiency, we invest heavily in new technology.
For example, a nearby tool shop has been taken over, which is being expanded into a centre of excellence. Everything related to tools for Geerts and Bravilor will be concentrated here. Martin Grob: 'Having control of our own tool development, production and repair is an important factor in speeding up the time to market'.

Schuler 300-ton eccentric press

At the end of January a brand new Schuler 300-ton eccentric press was delivered with a bed of 2,5 m. The press, from Switzerland, is equipped with a GSW feed line with an 11 roller precision aiming machine and a 4 ton reel including loading chair. Because the machine is higher than the current location allows, the roof has been opened and a special superstructure has been placed. To be able to keep the weight of the machine (39.000 kg) a foundation had to be made first. 4 poles of 320 mm around 20 meters are driven into the ground and then filled with concrete. The press arrived lying down and stood upright using two heavy hydraulic tilting systems.
With the new eccentric press, the degreasing machine also installed in January and the new Schmetz annealing furnace expected in April, Geerts Deepdrawing is ready for the future.
